Ok....so we have been open for two weeks, but it has been such a busy time that I haven't had a minute to think about anything else but panto. We had a great two week rehearsal period and Ed Curtis out esteemed director was on great form. More to the point though, Andy Gray was incredible. To think that he has been through one of the worst treatments for cancer possible is a miracle. It was straight back into wind ups galore. What a joy. Grant was buzzing as well. He had his old mucker back with him. Jordan Young from River City and Scot Squad fitted right in and is a big plus to the team.
So opening night arrived and we were ready for the inevitable ....'well its different' comments but although most people said that, they agreed that it was different in a good way. Goldilocks is a difficult subject as it doesn't have the fairy tale story but we have made up for that with amazing acts all centred around a circus which Andy and I run. We have enjoyed every minute together and the crowds have been giving us an amazing ovation every night.
As for my Big Big Variety show in March I have booked the lovely Mari Wilson (Just what I always wanted and many other 80's hits) Mick Miller and the boys are going make it a bumper 60th Anniversary show.
I always hate it when acts post this on FB but I am negotiating a very exciting project for 2021 at the moment and it should be announced within the next few weeks.
So it's down to hard work and not much partying for the next 5 weeks.
Looking forward to our Christmas week at the Prestonfield with my family. Love it every year.
Merry Christmas to my reader (Gavin)
