How we all doin

So......Two weeks into lockdown. I'm actually 3 weeks as David had the symptoms when we arrived back from Edinburgh (Big show) so we put ourselves into our own form of self isolation. Strangely enough I'm coping really well. We, as a family, have settled into a routine. Exercise everyday for a couple of hours....well my exercising is basically walking at a fast pace. (about 10-15k steps) but the rest of the family are much more committed than me. Anyway we wake up and the first thing we say is 'what are we going to eat tonight.' It's become an obsession. Sometimes I cook and sometimes David cooks. Jane has learnt how to put an ironing board up and how to switch on an iron. Very impressed. Kate made an amazing banana bread cake. I got the recipe for chocolate cake (my favourite) from my sister and attempted to bake it. I put the caster sugar, flour, butter and eggs into a bowl and tried to mix with a wooden spoon. It looked like vomit so I FaceTimed my sister and she went into hysterics. Apparently you don't just put them all in the bowl at once, and you need an electric mixer. So that went in the bin. I then tried to make to chocolate butter icing. That looked like poo. Apparently you don't melt the butter. Safe to say I won't be going on Bake off anytime soon.

I've had a few ships cancelled but that's no big problem. I feel so sorry for the Edinburgh Festival people who have been preparing for the August festival all year. My boys (Andy and Grant) had a play all ready for the Fringe. Very sad.

My big disappointment will be if we have to cancel our annual August trip to LA. I love that so much. The sun has been shining and at least it feels a bit like spring is around the corner. That should lift our spirits a bit.

So in conclusion, I'm not sure how I will feel after 5/6 weeks of lockdown but at the moment all is well in the Stewart household.

PS I have used my spare time to put a showreel together which I will put up on my website very soon. Look after yourself.
