My great pal Andy
I arrived in LA for my annual holiday to the sad new that Andy Gray (my panto partner for 20 years) has had to cancel his fringe play with Grant and leave River City, due to ill health. I was shocked as we had all met up a couple of weeks ago in Edinburgh for our panto dinner. I said that Andy had never looked better. Relaxed and tanned. I have spoken to Andy and he is in great spirits. We are all shocked and hope that he has a quick recovery.
So I have to say that I feel so guilty relaxing out here in LA. Jane and I and Ross and Brianna went down to Malibu where I had rented a villa on the beach. It was heaven. I was worried that there were no curtains on the windows but to wake up to the view and hear the waves lashing on the shore was wonderful. It's a definite box tick for me. Jane was so relaxed and we loved every second of it. It's amazing how well we all get on. I mean I can be a grumpy bastard so it's great that they all put up with me. So now we are back in the Hollywood hills for the final week. We have been eating in some wonderful restaurants. Last night I made a pasta and we ate on Ross and Brianna's balcony with all the candles on. I am a very lucky man. The Kids have been at home doing their own thing. Busy writing producing and holidaying with their friends. I'm sitting looking at the Hollywood sign as I write this. Don't really want to come back but work calls.
So once again Andy, thinking of you, and I will see you soon.
